Roles & Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION -

Job Title - Trade Marketing Manager for the Cigarettes Division.

The Trade Marketing Manager will lead the trade marketing and business development activities for the Division.


Organization Summary

Founded in 1870, Khimji Ramdas LLC (KR) is one of the biggest Conglomerates in Oman with a turnover exceeding USD 1 Billion and with approx. 5000 employees.

The Cigarettes Division, under the Consumer Products Group of KR, imports and distributes Philip Morris' Cigarettes (brands like Marlboro, L&M, Parliament, etc.) in Oman.

This Division is planning to add new Agencies / brands and the incumbent will lead the Trade Marketing and Business Development activities for these new agencies & brands.


Key Result Areas:

i) Principal Relationship - Will be the primary point of contact with the Principal(s) & will take the lead in chalking out budgets and plans for Oman and ensuring that these plans are executed with efficient & effective allocation of resources.

ii) Conceptualize and help execute the Trade Marketing plan based on the overall brand strategy across different Trade channels.

iii) Key Accounts Management - Provide direction and inputs and coordinate closely with the Sales team during negotiations with Key Customers. The emphasis will be on building a data / analysis based negotiation strategy with emphasis on problem solving and mutually beneficial solutions

iv) Analyze market trends (Market Share data, EPOS data, etc.) and competitor activity to identify course correction and growth opportunities.

v) Training & People Development - Ensure skill and capability enhancement of the Sales & Merchandising Teams by gap identification, coaching & training in close co-ordination with the Sales Team leaders.

vi) The trade marketing manager will be primarily responsible for coordinating closely internally with the Sales, Logistics & Finance teams and externally with the Principals to ensure that support, resources & initiatives essential to meet the brand targets are clearly built into the plans and delivered.

vii) New Product / SKU Launch Plans - Collaborate with the Principal and the Sales team to ensure effective launch, listing, and visibility of new products and SKUs.

viii) Build and lead implementation of the Retail Visibility strategy and plans in co-ordination with the Principals and the Sales team leaders.


Reporting Relationships -

This Role reports to the Head of the Cigarettes Division.

The MIS team will report to the Trade Marketing Manager

JOB SPECIFICATIONS -

  1. Skills & Ability:

a) Good Communication & Negotiation skills

(i) Ability to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders & customers in an effective professional manner.

(ii) Able to Negotiate effectively with FMCG Retail Key Accounts and B2B customers.

b) Good Conceptual, Planning & Execution Skills

i) Able to develop the GTM strategy and help create streamlined processes that supports execution based on the overall strategy & targets for the brand(s).

c) Good computer skills.

(i) Microsoft Office specifically Excel & Power-point skills

(ii) Exposure to SAP environment and data analytical tools will be an added advantage.

Knowledge

i) Modern Trade and Key Accounts management in a GCC context.

ii) Trade marketing best practices.

Result Orientation -

(i) Shows bias for action and good problem solving skills.

(ii) Target Oriented.

Qualifications

Graduate

MBA with specialization in Sales & Mktg.

experience

i) Around 10-15 years of total work experience in sales and marketing roles.

ii) Of which around 5 years in a Trade marketing role with a leading Distributor in the GCC, preferably in Oman.


  • Total Salary will be OMR 800/-pm (basic + consolidated allowance), family included (dependent wife and kids)

  • managerial grade, usual employment visa, tickets every year, medical insurance.
