Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Trainee Engineer – Supply Chain will support the Supply Chain team in daily operational and strategic activities across procurement, logistics, inventory control, and vendor management. This role is designed for a recent engineering graduate with strong internship experience in supply chain functions and excellent communication skills in English. The Trainee will gain hands-on experience, contribute to ongoing projects, and develop the technical and analytical capabilities needed for a long-term career within the supply chain discipline.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

  • Assist in day-to-day procurement activities including RFQs, bid evaluations, and purchase order preparation.
  • Support vendor onboarding, documentation, and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Engineering, Finance, Operations) to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating procurement and supply chain records in ERP systems.

Logistics & Inventory

  • Support logistics planning, shipment tracking, and coordination with transport and warehouse teams.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels, stock reconciliation, and demand forecasting.
  • Participate in cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.

Data & Reporting

  • Prepare supply chain performance reports and dashboards for management review.
  • Analyse market trends, pricing updates, and supplier performance data to support decision-making.
  • Assist in identifying process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce cost.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Support documentation related to audits, quality checks, and supplier certifications.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Supply Chain, Industrial, Mechanical, or related discipline).
  • Strong internship experience within a Supply Chain, Procurement, or Logistics department is required.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong analytical mindset with good problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
