An exciting role within the SMSCMC Finance Function as the Training & Naval Finance Manager has arisen. This role will be responsible for all project accounting activities within the Training and Naval project and will report into the Financial Controller
The jobholder will oversee the financial management of the Training and Naval IPT.
Ensure that each Project operates an appropriate and effective set of financial controls and ensure the overall integrity of the accounts (including CSR’s, SMTP, IBP, reporting etc.) adhering to the Financial Policies Manual at all times.
Take a leadership role in liaising with internal and external audits.
Provide financial advice, and support for business development including financial modelling and will challenge business development activities in terms of alignment to business strategy, assessment of opportunities and associated investment and the likelihood and level of financial returns versus risk.
Ensure that bids are based on the correct charging rates and have responsibility for the cash flow analysis provided in the RBA process. Review the bid from a financial perspective providing financial modelling, financial support and advice and challenge from a financial perspective. Liaise with the Group Treasury and Tax departments to ensure all parties have been involved with the bid.
In the CSR review take responsibility for all trading plans, challenge estimates to complete, support the decision making process and challenge the performance of contracts to ensure financial targets are optimised.
Create and challenge key IBP assumptions. The jobholder will direct, coordinate and undertake the IBP process in the Project area and challenge and analyse inputs.
Undertake financial reporting and forecasting for the Projects and provide input to Business Unit internal & external reporting.
Instil a cash awareness culture on the Projects and manage cash flow to optimise working capital.
The jobholder will oversee the provision of financial advice and support to senior members of the Project team as well as coach non-finance employees on related matters.
Recruit, retain and develop employees to ensure responsibilities are discharged in a professional manner with an emphasis on supporting and promoting Saudisation.
Assist on an as required basis in the development of the new business prospects as they progress through the bid phases of the lifecycle.
The jobholder should be a qualified accountant as a minimum and have good experience in project accounting roles. The person should also be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have strong interpersonal skills.
