Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect site conditions to verify suitability for tunnel works and ensure alignment with approved designs.
- Supervise tunnel construction activities including TBM operations, segment erection, grouting, and waterproofing.
- Monitor installation of precast tunnel liners to ensure accuracy, alignment, and quality standards.
- Inspect temporary and permanent works for compliance with approved methods, specifications, and safety procedures.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, daily logs, and reports of all tunneling activities.
- Advise on construction practices, site issues, and provide technical guidance to contractors.
- Coordinate with quality control teams to ensure testing and documentation are completed as required.
- Support the Resident Engineer in reviewing method statements, inspection requests, and test results.
- Conduct site safety checks, enforce HSE compliance, and participate in safety meetings.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings, snag lists, and documentation for final handover to the operating authority.
- Measure and record completed works for progress verification and payment certification.
- Monitor tunneling equipment performance, segment handling, and storage procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience, or a Diploma with at least 7 years of experience in construction supervision.
- Proven experience in tunnel construction using TBM and precast liners is mandatory.
- Prior experience in large-scale tunneling, metro, or underground infrastructure projects within the UAE or GCC preferred.
- Strong technical understanding of tunnel excavation, lining installation, and waterproofing systems.
- Knowledge of construction safety, QA/QC procedures, and site inspection protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic engineering software applications.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills in English.
- Commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
