Destructive Inspection ( NDI) Specialist
BAE Systems is the UK Government s
nominated Prime Contractor (PC) under the Government-to-Government arrangements
that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi
Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal
Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training
environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.
For such maintenance and training, this role is responsible for undertaking all NDI activities associated
with scheduled or unscheduled maintenance tasks in support of the operations in
the NDI Shop and support to Typhoon flying operations at PSAB & deployed
locations. These will be in accordance
with the RSAF Typhoon maintenance policy, the relevant publications and the BAE
Systems Maintenance Organisation Exposition.
all Health and Safety, COSSH and Risk assessment legislation relating to the
maintenance activities within the NDI Shop and areas of operation.
the Senior Specialist to highlight any areas that could affect the operational
capability of the NDI Shop.

regular checks to ensure all NDI equipment is kept within calibration.
Senior Specialist to resolve technical problems and carry out inspection

customer procedures utilising hardcopy and/or electronic systems as directed.

Senior Specialist to the appropriate standards within directed timescales.

Training Guidance and mentoring of nominated RSAF personnel leading to the
award of a self-certifying signature in
additional NDI disciplines
•ProvidingSupervisory 2nd Signature (over sign) for engineering and maintenance tasks carried
out by the RSAF in support of consolidation training on operational aircraft
accurate log books for the assigned RSAF technician.
•Liaise withRSAF and PC management in order to identify any training opportunities or to
highlight any potential training shortfalls.
production of weekly & monthly progress reports to identify training
training co-ordinator by providing additional training and supervision to RSAF
and PC personnel as required.
standby cover as directed in support of Sqn operations
should come from a recognised formal apprenticeship or aircraft training regime
from either industry or an armed forces background with a comprehensive experience
in the aerospace industry within a maintenance environment in the NDI
attained Specialist Level 2 NDI qualification (e.g. EN4179, ASNT, PCN) working
in a military or civilian aircraft maintenance environment. (Disciplines
required; Ults, Eddy, Mag, Pen & Radiography)
Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) qualification would be an advantage.
of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country and particularly
within Saudi Arabia would be an advantage.
individual with the ability to act upon their own initiative to assist the
Senior Specialist with developing NDI Shop capability.
conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail is also
experience of conducting On-the-Job training activities would be advantageous
record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
understanding of ESS or similar electronic based reporting system.
