Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
-
Review and approve the Contractor's Instrumentation & Monitoring Plans (IMP) to ensure compliance with project specifications and construction requirements.
-
Supervise and oversee the installation, calibration, and commissioning of geotechnical and structural monitoring instruments, including piezometers, inclinometers, extensometers, load cells, strain gauges, tilt meters, settlement markers, 3D targets, and vibration sensors.

Monitor the Contractor's activities to ensure proper implementation of monitoring systems and adherence to approved methodologies.

Coordinate with the design and construction teams to ensure monitoring requirements are fully integrated into excavation, tunneling, and foundation works.

Ensure the Contractor establishes proper data acquisition, validation, and real-time reporting systems, including dashboards for effective monitoring.

Review monitoring data and the Contractor s interpretation reports, and provide timely feedback to the Contractor and design team regarding trigger level exceedances or potential risks.

Attend weekly Instrumentation & Monitoring Meetings with the Contractor to discuss progress, issues, and action plans.

Conduct regular site inspections to verify the proper functioning of monitoring systems and compliance with approved plans.

Interface with contractors, consultants, and third-party agencies to ensure compliance with project standards and specifications.

Review and verify monitoring records, drawings, and as-built documentation to ensure traceability and readiness for audits.

Support risk management efforts by identifying trends, assessing potential ground or structural behavior issues, and recommending mitigation measures to the construction team
What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. A Master s degree is preferred.

Minimum 15 years of experience in instrumentation and monitoring for underground construction projects, particularly in a construction supervision role for stations and tunnels.

Strong knowledge of geotechnical and structural monitoring instruments, systems, and construction methodologies.

Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and best practices in instrumentation and monitoring for underground works.

Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting monitoring data, reports, and dashboards.

Ability to conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications.

Experience in preparing and reviewing documentation for audits and compliance checks
