Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential subcontractors and suppliers for key project packages.
- Lead the vendor prequalification process, evaluating candidates based on experience, financial stability, technical capabilities, and safety records.
- Maintain and update a database of approved and pre-qualified vendors.
- Support the negotiation of terms and contracts with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable conditions.
- Collaborate with project management and legal teams to finalize contract terms.
- Help define and establish Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for vendor performance.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and its vendors, fostering strong, long-term relationships.
- Monitor vendor performance against agreed-upon KPIs, including quality, delivery timelines, and budget.
- Address and resolve issues related to vendor quality, performance, or compliance in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide regular feedback to vendors and conduct formal performance reviews.
- Ensure all vendor documentation, such as contracts, insurance certificates, and compliance records, is up-to-date and accurately maintained.
- Oversee the vendor onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all administrative steps are completed smoothly.
- Track and analyze vendor spend, performance metrics, and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Prepare and present vendor performance reports and recommendations to management.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a procurement, vendor management, or supply chain role within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and relationship management.
- Strong understanding of construction specifications, drawings, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with procurement or vendor management software (e.g., ERP systems).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive approach to managing vendor relationships and addressing potential issues.
