For an international british school is looking to hire a vice principal for their branch in KSA-Jeddah:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE PROFILE
Education
at least Bachelors Level in Education or the equivalent
a Master degree in educational leadership or the equivalent is desirable
Business Management qualification within bachelors or masters
teaching qualification
Professional
at least 5 years experience in school leadership preferably in the Middle East
experience in implementing major new projects and leading change in schools
high level of awareness of current research as to how children learn and develop
be current with relevant international curricula, programmes of study and assessment methods
capable to ensure highly effective teaching and learning and improved school standards
capable to identify learning deficits and strengths to provide teaching and learning guidance
efficient in implementing and maintaining operational systems
counselling and advisory skills in order to support and guide students, parents and colleagues
efficient in material resource management and staff training
demonstrated ability in performance appraisal and staff development
well able to motivate high morale in staff members and students
able to articulate educational issues and perspectives in communication with the school and broader community
Personal
strong interpersonal, leadership and collaboration skills
able to establish innovative, well organized, supportive teaching and learning
experience in managing diverse teams
effective mentor
strong communication and motivational skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and support collaborative decision making
be directly responsible for the quality of leadership, management and resources in the school
provide leadership for the school and demonstrates high ethical standards to motivate and serve as a role model for staff and students to achieve school goals
maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, community, staff, management, shareholders, accreditation bodies and other relevant stakeholders
establish a culture of high performance and development in staff members and students
facilitate teamwork, collegiality and professionalism in appropriately delegating responsibilities and managing outcomes
ensure implementation of the school curriculum with focus on personal and social development
ensure that appropriate provision is made for the orientation and training of existing and new staff members to acquaint them with the aims and nature of the curriculum and operational routines
coordinate and supervise the daily operation of the school program, in school suspensions, detention operations, and the health clinic and works collaboratively with administrators/supervisors who have responsibility for these operations
assure the safety and welfare of students and employees in the campus
monitor halls and student movement to ensure a safe and orderly environment at school including monitoring maintenance and cleanliness of all school facilities
mentorship and staff wellbeing
direct and administer, through subordinates, the facilities of the campus in an efficient and economical manner, including budgets and projections, facilities management, maintenance, procurement, transportation and other school services
periodically articulate educational issues, perspectives and exemplary practices to staff members, families and the wider community
be proactive in pursuing personal professional growth in leadership and management competencies and practices
Quality & Standards Compliance
establish a comprehensive framework of relevant programs with policies, procedures, resources and budgets
ensure institutional excellence in the school through a quality assurance framework approach to school improvement and collaboration with the Leadership Team
ensure the school attains accreditation with CIS and other accrediting bodies, by ensuring all accreditation criteria are met at the highest possible level
help define, implement and revise the curriculum and standards for the school in line with the Cambridge Curriculum, American Standards, and Saudi Ministry of Education requirements
provide support, professional development and guidance to staff
manage staff development through Personal Appraisals and professional growth guidance and collaborate regarding the appraisals for retention, promotion and recognition
ensure that appropriate and safe facilities, equipment and materials are readily available to support the teaching and learning programme
ensure that the curriculum shall develop those skills and abilities which will prepare students for lifelong learning
Pedagogic
collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the implementation of exemplary approaches to teaching and learning,
