Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Ensure 99.99% platform landscape availability and optimize and manage Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of tech artifacts.

Enforce 80%+ Test Driven Development (TDD) across the engineering organization and achieve 90%+ process automation across the engineering landscape.

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's degree preferred), 15+ years of engineering delivery experience with multiple technologies, and experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and SRE principles.

The candidate should have strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, strong stakeholder management and business acumen, and a strong understanding of the retail business.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Lead the transformation of the Engineering function for Retail eCommerce across multiple geographies, developing strategies, roadmaps, and frameworks for various teams.
  • Manage a team of 150+ practitioners, focusing on talent development and fostering a strength-focused mindset. Provide insightful analysis on the progress of the Retail eCommerce Engineering function.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including Retail Country Management, to provide regular updates on engineering implementation. Build relationships and maintain partnerships to achieve organizational goals.
  • Own overall deliverables, strategies, and roadmaps for end-to-end capabilities within the product organization. Drive the optimization of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Time to Market (TTM).
  • Review and update engineering function policies and procedures. Oversee the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures. Perform regular audits to identify gaps and propose corrective actions.
  • Implement performance management processes, including objective setting and performance monitoring. Ensure training and development needs are met. Develop manpower plans and optimize team size.
