Water Plant Technician First Select Employment Services

Perform PM/CM/Shutdown tasks on water-plant rotating and static equipment (e.g., seawater intake screens, traveling band screens, chlorination systems, feed pumps, HP pumps, booster pumps, dosing skids, cartridge filters, media filters, strainers, RO/ MSF equipment, energy recovery devices, brine and product valves, pipework).

Execute alignment (laser/dial), balancing support, and precision assembly of pumps, gearboxes, and couplings.

Inspect, overhaul, and replace bearings, seals (mechanical), gaskets, packings, and valve internals (gate, globe, check, butterfly—including lug/wafer types).

Apply proper torquing & tightening (cross-patterns, torque values), pipe fitting, hot/cold works, and rigging/lifting within permits and safe systems of work.

Troubleshoot equipment faults using condition monitoring inputs (vibration, temperature, noise, flow/pressure trends), raise work requests, and propose root cause fixes.

Read and markup P&IDs, ISO drawings, equipment GA, and OEM manuals; (notifications, confirmations, spares used).

Support startup/commissioning after maintenance and participate in turnarounds and emergency callouts.

Ensure HSE compliance: PTW, LOTO, confined space, working at height, hot work, lifting plans, chemical (acid/alkaline/biocide/anti-scaling) handling, and environmental controls.

Maintain housekeeping, ensure tools calibration, and monitor junior technicians/contractors.
