Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of welded joints and materials, identifying defects or weaknesses and implementing corrective measures to uphold quality standards.
  • Set up and maintain welding equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting, to ensure optimal performance and safety during welding operations.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and specifications, ensuring precise execution in fabricating metal components.
  • Execute various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, mastering each method to adapt to diverse materials and project demands.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to refine welding processes and techniques, contributing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and product integrity.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a secure work environment by using personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining equipment properly.
  • Document work progress and maintain records of completed projects, including materials used and time spent, to facilitate accurate reporting and project management.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior welders, fostering a culture of skill development and safety awareness within the team.
  • Participate in regular maintenance and upkeep of the welding workshop, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and welding techniques to continuously improve skills and contribute to the company's competitive edge.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training in welding or a related field preferred for foundational technical knowledge.
  • Certification in welding from a recognized institution, such as AWS or ASME, demonstrating proficiency in various welding processes.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on welding experience in industrial or construction settings, showcasing the ability to handle complex projects efficiently.
  • Language proficiency in English is essential, with additional languages considered an asset for effective communication in diverse teams.
  • Experience working with different metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, highlighting versatility in material handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, ensuring that every weld meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, enabling quick identification and resolution of issues that may arise during the welding process.
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity, required for handling heavy equipment and working in various positions and environments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and collaboration in fast-paced work settings.
