Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Plant Workshop Welder will play a critical role in fabricating, repairing, and maintaining plant workshop equipment and structures. Your expertise in welding techniques and fabrication processes will ensure the integrity and durability of workshop assets. This role requires precision, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to collaborate with other maintenance teams to keep MEWS operating efficiently
Fabrication & Welding:
- Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks on machinery, structures, and components within the plant workshop.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to carry out accurate fabrication.
- Carry out modifications and reinforcements on plant workshop equipment as required.
Maintenance & Repair:
- Repair damaged components, frames, and structures using appropriate welding techniques.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on welded structures to ensure safety and reliability.
Ensure all welded joints and repairs meet strength and quality requirements
Equipment Operation & Care:
- Operate and maintain welding machines, cutting tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of welding tools and equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
Safety Compliance:
- Follow welding safety protocols, including PPE use, ventilation, and fire prevention measures.
- Inspect work areas and ensure compliance with DPWorld safety standards.
Collaboration:
- Work alongside mechanical, electrical, and tyre technicians to support overall plant equipment maintenance.
- Assist engineers with modifications, retrofits, or special fabrication projects.
Documentation:
- Maintain records of welding tasks, repairs, and modifications.
- Update technical drawings and fabrication notes when modifications are completed.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding or fabrication.
- 3 5 years of experience in industrial or plant workshop welding.
- Proficiency in different welding methods (MIG, TIG, Arc, Gas welding, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Familiarity with workshop safety procedures and fire prevention practices
