Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform welding operations using various techniques (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW) to fabricate, repair, and modify metal components, ensuring high-quality welds that meet engineering specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine the requirements of each project, accurately translating them into precise weld placements.
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and preheating materials, ensuring optimal weld quality and preventing defects such as porosity or cracking.
- Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and adherence to quality standards, using visual inspection and testing equipment such as ultrasonic testing, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of a vocational program in welding technology or a related field is preferred.
- Possession of relevant welding certifications (e.g., AWS, ASME) demonstrating proficiency in welding processes and techniques.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a welding technician role, showcasing a strong track record in diverse welding applications.
- Prior experience in the oil and gas, manufacturing, or construction industry, providing a solid understanding of industry-specific welding requirements.
