Role Specific Information
NRC Youth Programme provides skills training, including vocational training and life skills, to youth in Zaatari camp. The Team Leader provides strategic and implementation oversight of NRC Youth Skills Training Programme at site-level in Zaatari camp.
Generic Responsibilities:
• Management of project staff.
• Implement plan of action for delegated portfolio of Core Competency projects (activities, budget and project documentation).
• Day to day follow of progress in project implementation.
• Ensure compliance with NRC policies, Core Competency tools, handbooks and guidelines.
• Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
• Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
• Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents.
• Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer of key skills.
• Liaison and collaborate with relevant local authorities and stakeholders.
• Promote the rights of internally displaced/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.
• Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.
Specific responsibilities
• Implements synergies with other CCs and agencies.
• Develops monthly activity and work plan in site.
• Represents at camp level WGs as delegated by PC.
• Focal point for site visits. Represents with external/internal visitors to site, donors, and
• Identifies capacity building needs through HR processes. Advises PC on capacity building
needs and opportunities. Focal point for capacity building of staff of site.
• Informs programme development at site level, with strong basis in M&E.
• Prepares monthly reports on site activities. Ensures M&E correctly conducted and reported.
• Supervises budget lines for site.
• Supervision of implementation at site level, inc. use of monthly work and activity plan.
• Focal point for programmes delivered with education partners in site.
Our ideal candidate:
We are looking for a university graduate, with a minimum of 3 years previous experience working with youth and/or education projects in a humanitarian/recovery context. Previous experience working in vocational training centers, preferably with linkages to livelihood programs, capable of handling fast paced environments has past experience in managing a team. We are looking for someone that has superior communication skills & time management.
Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts. Excellent reporting skills in English and Arabic languages.
We are particularly looking for a positive individual with strong communication skills, who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels, and may be required to work extended and /or non-core business hours, as and when required by the needs of the organization. This may include evening, weekends and holidays.
In this position you will join highly motivated and expert staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people in the world's biggest displacement crisis.
Additional Information:
Contract period: Through to 31st December 2018
Salary/benefits: 1347JOD(subject to social security and Income tax)
Duty station: Zaatari Camp
NRC may be required to verify the identity of its partners and to check that its partners have not been involved in illegal activities.
