Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on 132kV underground cable systems, including fault location and repair, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and testing of high-voltage cables, joints, and terminations using specialized equipment like VLF testers and time-domain reflectometers (TDR).
  • Install and terminate 132kV cables, meticulously adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices to guarantee system integrity.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, diagnosing cable faults and recommending appropriate repair strategies to maintain system reliability.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in electrical principles.
  • Holds relevant certifications such as cable splicing and termination certifications, showcasing specialized skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrates a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage underground cables, highlighting practical expertise.
  • Exhibits a strong understanding of cable types, insulation materials, and fault-finding techniques specific to 132kV systems, showcasing technical proficiency.
