Roles & Responsibilities

2. Main Tasks & Accountabilities

Reviewing/Managing

Proactively managing debts from company debtors

Reviewing Daily Visit Reports from Debt Collectors

Ensuring timely payment of debts

CRM

Assessing new credit requests and reviewing customers credit ratings with banks

Setting up of terms and conditions of credit

Following up payments as needed

Negotiating repayment plans, and re-negotiating these if required

Resolving queries both internally and externally around payments and outstanding invoices

Reconciliation/Accounting

Processing payments and reconciliation of invoices

Checking and posting of receipts to accounting systems

Preparing statements, client status reports and other relevant information as required

Compliances

Ensure all local environmental requirements are adhered to.

Knowledge of regional council compliance requirements

People management and reporting responsibilities

Liaison with management and other line managers (as part of cross function team) for efficient running of the department.

Participate in management and supervisory meetings as and when required.

Ensure accurate and up to date, daily, weekly, monthly records as required by the management.

Ensure tasks are understood by the team members, and performed responsibly and diligently

Help others in the team if needed, Support relief staff in their duties.

The Job holder should perform all the other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.

Ensure that incidents and hazards are reported in a timely manner and reduce consumption of natural resources to assist in protecting the environment and ensuring a healthy and safe work environment.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education Level Minimum Requirement

Bachelor s degree in accounting or business administration

Professional Qualifications

Knowledge of payment plans and accounting procedures

Knowledge of office and accounting software

Work Experience

Previous 3 years of working experience as a Credit Controller or Receivable Accountant

Strong understanding of the Middle East and African markets

Job Specific Skills

Excellent negotiating skills

Good written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with debt collection laws

Generic Skills

Must be alert, strive for accuracy, and have ability to exercise independent thinking and judgment, be a self- motivator, and attention to detail
