Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Accounting and Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions (receipts, payments, journal entries, etc.).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, ledgers, and other financial records.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable efficiently.
  • Ensure timely fee collection and proper posting to student accounts.

2. Budgeting and Reporting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor actual expenditure against the approved budget.
  • Prepare variance analysis and financial performance reports for management.
  • Support the annual audit process by providing required documentation and explanations.

3. Payroll and Staff Benefits

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Calculate staff benefits, leave encashment, gratuity, and end-of-service settlements in line with school policies and local labor laws.
  • Maintain records of staff advances, deductions, and reimbursements.

4. Compliance and Internal Control

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, school policies, and Ministry of Education/Ministry of Finance requirements.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard school assets.
  • Prepare and file necessary reports for tax, social security, or other statutory obligations (if applicable).

5. Coordination and Support

  • Liaise with auditors, suppliers, banks, and government authorities as required.
  • Support school administration in procurement, inventory, and asset management.
  • Provide financial data to management for decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a school or educational institution.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and local labor laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Working knowledge in School Information System & MystroX HR Software.
