Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Record and manage financial transactions across company account ledgers using spreadsheets or accounting software, ensuring accuracy and consistency at every step.
Review account ledgers regularly to identify and correct errors such as duplicate entries, typos, or misclassifications to maintain the integrity of financial data.
Prepare and file essential financial documents including income statements, profit & loss (P&L) reports, and account-level summaries for internal and external use.
Reconcile company accounts by cross-referencing bank statements against internal records, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Organize and maintain a filing system for receipts, invoices, and all physical or digital copies of financial documents for audit readiness.
Assist with the preparation and timely submission of tax payments and returns, including payroll and sales tax.
Maintain compliance with financial reporting regulations and internal controls.
Desired Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge:
Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting methods, including double-entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and cash accounting.
Strong math skills to calculate debits, credits, and complete accurate account reconciliations.
Hands-on experience entering transactions into accounting software programs.
Ability to use spreadsheets and accounting software to produce key financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, AP statements, and AR statements.
Understanding of basic tax liabilities, including payroll and sales tax.
Familiarity with laws and regulations related to the preparation of financial statements.
Analytical skills to identify errors or discrepancies in financial data.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with accounting team members.
