Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring all documentation is prepared and accurate.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports and forecasts for management decision-making.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to provide financial insights and support for ongoing construction projects.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the accounting function.
- Minimum of 15+ year of experience in accounting, with progressive responsibility in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis within a construction or related industry is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all financial matters.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Willingness to work onsite (on-premises) as required by the workplace arrangement.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum of 15+ year of experience in accounting, with progressive responsibility in a managerial or supervisory role.

- Background Experience in the Education Sector. example, (Universities)
