Accounting Supervisor

1. Financial Operations Management

Supervise and manage the daily operations of the accounting team.

Ensure accurate posting of all financial transactions (AP, AR, GL entries).

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

Review bank reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and petty cash.

2. Freight Forwarding & Shipping Accounting

Monitor job costing for shipments, including revenue, cost accruals, and profit margin analysis.

Ensure timely and accurate billing for freight, clearance, trucking, warehousing, and other logistics services.

Verify supplier invoices related to freight activities (carriers, agents, port charges, brokers, transporters).

Oversee the reconciliation of agent statements and network partner accounts.

Ensure correct revenue recognition based on service completion and industry standards.

3. Compliance & Documentation

Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and local taxation regulations.

Coordinate with auditors and prepare required supporting documents.

Maintain accurate records and adhere to company financial controls.

4. Leadership & Team Supervision

Supervise junior accountants and provide guidance, coaching, and performance evaluation.

Assign tasks, monitor workload, and ensure deadlines are met.

Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.

5. Reporting & Analysis

Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.

Monitor account balances, financial trends, and operational KPIs.

Provide insights on cost control, profitability, and financial risks.

6. Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate with operations, sales, customer service, and logistics teams on job costing and billing.

Support management with financial planning and budgeting.

Liaise with banks, auditors, local authorities, and external partners as required.
