Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of our real estate business. The role involves handling accounting transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts for all real estate Projects and entities.
- Transaction Recording: Record daily accounting entries such as sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal vouchers.
- A/P & A/R: Handle accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoices, client payments, and commission settlements.
- Reporting:Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, customer accounts, and supplier ledgers.
- Cost Monitoring: Monitor project-related costs, rental income, service charges, and other real estate-related revenues and expenses.
- Budgeting: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for ongoing projects.
- Asset Management: Manage the accounting aspects of property sales,transfers, and leasing contracts.
- Compliance & Audit: Liaise with auditors, banks, and government authorities as required.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and assist with VAT filing and documentation.
Decision Support: Support management in financial decision-making by providing timely and accurate financial data
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification: Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) is an advantage.
- Experience: 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the real estate sector.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, real estate transactions, and project accounting.
- Software: Proficient in accounting software.
- Technical Skills: Excellent Excel and reporting skills.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Handling developer accounts, real estate brokerage commissions, and escrow accounts.
- Knowledge of UAE VAT and real estate compliance regulations - if applicable.
- Experience coordinating with developers, agents, and property management teams
