Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Configure, calibrate, and maintain Access Control Systems (ACS) hardware, including readers, controllers, and door hardware, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex ACS issues, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain system integrity.
  • Conduct regular system audits and inspections to identify vulnerabilities, assess compliance with security policies, and proactively address potential risks.
  • Program and manage user access permissions, creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, and assigning access levels based on organizational needs.
  • Install and integrate ACS components with other security systems, such as video surveillance and intrusion detection, to create a comprehensive security environment.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on ACS equipment, including cleaning, testing, and replacing components to extend system lifespan and prevent failures.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on ACS operation and troubleshooting, empowering them to effectively utilize the system.
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation, including system diagrams, configuration settings, and maintenance logs, for future reference and troubleshooting.
  • Stay current with the latest ACS technologies, industry best practices, and security standards to ensure systems remain up-to-date and secure.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as system failures or security breaches, providing immediate support and implementing corrective actions to restore functionality.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, demonstrating a foundational understanding of relevant technical principles.
  • Holds certifications such as Certified Systems Integrator (CSI) or equivalent, showcasing specialized knowledge and expertise in the field of security systems.
  • Demonstrates 3-5 years of experience in the security industry, with a specific focus on Access Control Systems, indicating practical application of skills.
  • Exhibits a strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, ensuring effective integration and troubleshooting of ACS components.
  • Has a proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics, enabling efficient system installation and maintenance.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and software, such as multimeters and system configuration tools, for troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, ensuring minimal system downtime.
  • Shows a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying current with industry trends and advancements in security technology.
  • Displays physical ability to lift and handle equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environments, adapting to the demands of the role.
