Job Description
Position Summary
AUIB is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Adjunct Professor of Public Law to advance its mission of delivering high-quality legal education to College of Law students. The Adjunct Professor will teach courses Public Law, including Constitutional Law, Administrative Judiciary, Financial Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure using Iraqi legal codes, case law, and scholarly materials.
equipping students with the expertise required to pass the Iraqi national law examination and engage effectively in public legal practice. This role requires a dynamic educator capable of fostering critical thinking, promoting student engagement, and preparing future legal professionals for careers in government, international organizations, and public institutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching: Deliver courses in Public Law, including Constitutional Law, Administrative Judiciary, Financial Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure using Iraqi legal codes, case law, and scholarly materials.
2. Student Engagement: Encourage critical thinking, class discussions, and practical application of legal principles.
3. Learning Assessment: Develop and administer quizzes, midterms, and final examinations to evaluate student understanding.
4. Student Counseling: Provide guidance and support to help students navigate complex public law concepts and career paths.
5. Grading: Ensure accurate, timely grading and feedback for all assessments, maintaining academic integrity.

2. Passion for teaching and mentoring students in legal theory and practice.

5. Ability to foster analytical thinking and independent legal reasoning among students.
Education and Experience
1. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, or a closely related field.
2. Strong record of academic research, publications, or contributions to public law scholarship.
3. Practical experience in public legal practice, government advisory roles, or international law institutions.
4. Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in law, preferably in Public Law courses.
5. Demonstrated ability to collaborate within academic and professional teams.
