Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Utilise programme data and field evidence to influence international and national policy discussions on humanitarian access, displacement, and protection concerns in the oPt.
Draft advocacy reports, briefing notes, talking points, op-eds, and other products targeted at governments, UN bodies, and media.
Provide policy briefings and analysis to NRC senior management, field teams, and regional/global offices to ensure coherent advocacy positions.
Ensure timely advocacy response to developments impacting humanitarian access, protection, and displacement, by preparing rapid reaction materials and engaging directly with decision-makers.
Monitor political and policy developments in Israel, the occupied Palestinian territory, and key capitals to identify opportunities for influence.
Support donor engagement by providing inputs on advocacy-related sections of donor reports and proposals.
Organise and participate in high-level advocacy missions, including preparing mission briefs, agendas, and follow-up reports.
Coordinate closely with NRC programmes to ensure advocacy is informed by field realities and programmatic evidence.
Build and maintain strong relationships with the diplomatic community, UN agencies, and peer NGOs to strengthen collective advocacy efforts.
Desired Candidate Profile
An advanced degree in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or related studies.
At least 5 years of experience in advocacy, policy, or humanitarian/human rights work in the oPt or similar contexts.
Technical knowledge of the humanitarian and human rights sectors.
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
Native-level English, both written and verbal.
Proven ability to develop and implement evidence-based advocacy strategies.
In-depth knowledge of the political and legal context in the oPt, including violations of international law that drive humanitarian needs.
Exceptional writing skills and the ability to distil complex legal and policy issues into accessible and compelling advocacy messages.
Experience drafting advocacy reports, briefing notes, and messaging tailored to diplomatic, media, and public audiences.
Strong analytical and political judgment skills to anticipate challenges and identify opportunities for influence.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and organisations to achieve advocacy objectives.
Experience engaging with senior decision-makers in government, UN, and donor institutions.
