Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for conducting initial ATP integration, continuation training, and evaluation of employee and customer crewmembers in accordance with MNG-AVN Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) requirements.
Conducts academic and hands-on performance training and administers evaluations to ensure aircrew proficiency and standardization of training. Responsible for maintaining Individual Aircrew Training Folder, (IATF) and completing required training, currency, and readiness entries.
Conducts AH-6i and gunnery instruction in a classroom environment; provides flight instruction in the aircraft and flight training devices; providing contact, basic instrument, and basic combat skills training to ATM standards IAW government approved ATM. Instruction may include any combination of Individual or Group instruction in an academic classroom environment and or aircraft or simulator. Additionally, the applicant must have Attack helicopter experience in mission operations and must have completed a course of instruction for IPs at an authorized Aviation Proponent School. Primary advisor for gunnery operations to the command and GDC Directorate. Develops Gunnery academics and publications for the Master Gunner Course and gunnery operations. Performs duties as required by the Director Brigade Flight Training.
Desired Candidate Profile
Must have been qualified as a Pilot in Command and must have 1000 hours of PC time of which 300 hours must be in type aircraft.
Graduate of AH-6i, OH=58D, or AH-64 Instructor Pilot Course (IPC)/Methods of Instruction (MOI) course at an authorized Aviation Proponent School or an IP equivalency evaluation administered by a standardization instructor pilot (SP) selected by the Directorate of Evaluations and Standardization (DES) required.
Master Gunner course qualification preferred. Master Gunner experience at the battalion or brigade level is required.
Qualified on the AH-6i Series or other AH-6 Series Aircraft preferred. Prefer 300 hours of singe engine time in rotary wing aircraft.
Minimum of 1500 total flight hours (total time). Minimum of 300 flight hours Instructor Pilot time. Minimum of 250 flight hours NVS/NVG.
FAA Commercial Pilot certificate or GACA Pilot Certificate required.
Attack helicopter Mission operations required. Combat experience preferred. Instructor Pilot experience at Fort Rucker preferred.
Successfully pass the Army, FAA Class II Flight Physical or GACA Flight Physical upon hire, and annually thereafter required.
Knowledge of Army Aviation training concepts, administration, and logistics.
Ability to communicate both orally and written.
Ability to effectively deal with people in the coordination of staff and team members.
Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
Possesses a valid driver s license
