AI Automation Engineer / Operations Systems Engineer (Health Tech)

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement AI-powered workflows that automate routine operations tasks while keeping humans in the loop for exceptions
• Partner closely with operations teams to understand real-world processes and translate them into scalable systems
• Build systems that handle triggers, data gathering, decision-making, actions, and multi-channel communication (SMS/chat/calls)
• Architect human AI collaboration models (orchestrated tasks vs. true escalations)
• Ensure reliability, monitoring, auditability, and graceful failure of AI systems in production

Core Use Cases You ll Work On

• EVV rejection resolution and caregiver follow-ups
• Authorization expiration monitoring and renewals
• Caregiver onboarding across multiple systems
• Compliance-driven patient check-ins and triage

• Strong software engineering background with experience building production systems
• Experience designing workflow automation, task orchestration, or ops tooling
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/LLMs via APIs (e.g., Claude, OpenAI, etc.)
• Systems thinker who can reason about scale, failure modes, and trade-offs
• Comfortable working in ambiguous, cross-functional environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Nice to Have
• Health tech, Medicaid/Medicare, EVV, or regulated industry experience
• Experience building internal tools for operations teams
• Familiarity with human-in-the-loop AI systems and reliability monitoring
