Aldar Education - Individual Assistant Aldar Academies

Provide support for an individual pupil, within a group context or individually, both inside and outside of

the classroom to enable the pupil to fully participate in a range of activities during the school day.

To be proactive in matters relating to health and safety, including awareness and understanding of any

medical care plan, risk assessment and/or personal emergency evacuation plan relating to the pupil.

Support the pupil in relation to their individual needs whether logistical, physical, emotional, behavioural,

social or communication. This could include intimate care where the pupil requires such support.

Promote the child s independence when working in class, in a group, in developing their friendships and

managing their belongings and daily routine.

Support the aims of the school, comply with the requirements of health and safety, code of conduct and

other relevant legislation and school policies.

Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.

Attend training sessions and professional meetings, as required.

Work with other professionals as needed, e.g. Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational

Therapists.

Build a close working relationship with the class teacher and communicate regularly and openly.
