Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. PROJECT COORDINATION & MANAGEMENT

  • Attend project meetings with clients, consultants, architects, and contractors

  • Coordinate with project managers on project timelines and milestones

  • Prepare technical submissions and method statements

  • Conduct site surveys and take accurate measurements

  • Coordinate with sub-contractors and suppliers for material procurement

  • Track project progress and provide regular status updates

  • Resolve technical queries and RFIs (Requests for Information) promptly

  • Manage design changes and variation orders

  1. QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE

  • Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and standards

  • Verify structural integrity and safety of aluminum installations

  • Review fabrication processes and approve production methods

  • Inspect welding quality, surface finishes, and assembly accuracy

  • Ensure compliance with management systems

  • Approve mock-ups and samples before mass production

  • Identify non-conformances and implement corrective actions

  • Maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, and test certificates

  • Liaise with third-party testing agencies when required

  1. TECHNICAL SUPPORT

  • Provide technical guidance to workshop supervisors and fabrication teams

  • Support installation crews with technical drawings and installation procedures

  • Troubleshoot on-site issues and provide immediate engineering solutions

  • Advise on material substitutions and alternative solutions

  • Assist estimation team with technical details for quotations

  • Conduct value engineering to optimize costs without compromising quality

  1. DOCUMENTATION & ADMINISTRATION

  • Maintain organized project files and technical documentation

  • Prepare technical reports, calculation sheets, and engineering notes

  • Archive material certificates, test reports, and warranty documents

  • Update standard details and drawing templates

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of company standards

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in aluminum fabrication industry

  • Proven track record in designing aluminum curtain walls, windows, facades, or cladding systems

  • Experience in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings

  • Knowledge of aluminum extrusion profiles and fabrication processes

  • Familiarity with installation procedures and site coordination

Technical Competencies

  • CAD Software: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (essential)

  • Material Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of aluminum alloys (6061, 6063, etc.), properties, and applications

  • Fabrication Processes: Knowledge of cutting, welding, bending, drilling, and finishing techniques

  • Surface Finishing: Understanding of anodizing, powder coating, and polishing processes

  • Hardware & Glazing: Familiarity with door/window hardware, sealants, gaskets, and glass specifications

  • Standards & Codes: Knowledge of relevant building codes, ASTM standards, and British/European standards
