Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Electrical Shift Operations
- Manage complete electrical shift operations of the Hot Rolling Mill.
- Ensure reliable functioning of HT/LT electrical systems, MCC panels, transformers, and power distribution networks.
- Monitor electrical equipment performance and ensure uninterrupted power supply to rolling mill operations.
- Coordinate with the production team to support smooth mill operation during shifts.
2. Automation & Control Systems
- Monitor and maintain PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems used in rolling mill processes.
- Troubleshoot automation issues related to PLC programs, sensors, encoders, and control circuits.
- Ensure proper functioning of industrial automation networks and field devices.
- Support automation upgrades and modifications to improve system efficiency.
3. Drives & Motor Systems
- Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of AC/DC drives, VFDs, and large mill motors.
- Ensure smooth operation of rolling mill stands, conveyors, cooling beds, and auxiliary equipment.
- Diagnose faults related to motor control circuits, drives, and feedback devices.
4. Breakdown & Preventive Maintenance
- Attend and resolve electrical and automation breakdowns during shifts.
- Ensure timely execution of preventive maintenance activities to avoid equipment failure.
- Analyze recurring faults and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
5. Team Supervision
- Supervise electrical technicians and maintenance staff during shifts.
- Allocate maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion.
- Provide technical guidance to the team for troubleshooting and maintenance work.
6. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and plant safety regulations.
- Implement lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
- Ensure safe working practices in electrical panels, substations, and automation systems.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain shift logbooks, breakdown reports, and maintenance records.
- Monitor equipment performance and report major issues to the management team.
- Prepare reports on downtime, maintenance activities, and system performance.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification : BE/B. Tech/Diploma-Electrical/ECE/ETC/Instrumentation
Experience: 3-15 Years
