Job Title
Anchor Foreman
Reporting To
Barge Superintendent / Marine Supervisor / Offshore Construction Manager
Location
Offshore, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Job Purpose
To supervise and execute anchoring and mooring operations for offshore barges, jack-up units, and floating vessels, ensuring all anchor handling activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with ADNOC marine standards, approved procedures, and HSE requirements.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Anchoring & Mooring Operations
- Supervise all anchoring, anchor handling, and mooring activities for barges and offshore vessels.
- Ensure correct deployment, tensioning, repositioning, and recovery of anchors in accordance with approved anchor patterns and marine procedures.
- Coordinate with marine spread, tug masters, and deck crews during anchor operations.
Marine Safety & HSE Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSEMS, Marine Assurance requirements, and Life Saving Rules.
- Conduct toolbox talks, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and risk assessments for anchoring activities.
- Ensure Permit to Work (PTW) and SIMOPS requirements are strictly followed.
- Monitor weather, sea state, and marine conditions affecting anchor operations.
Equipment & Technical Control
- Ensure anchors, winches, wires, chains, shackles, and rigging equipment are inspected and certified prior to use.
- Monitor anchor tensions and line integrity during operations.
- Identify and report equipment defects or unsafe conditions.
Crew Supervision
- Supervise anchor handling crews and deck personnel during operations.
- Ensure crew competency and compliance with marine safety procedures.
- Coordinate closely with crane operators, winch operators, and barge personnel.
Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain anchoring activity records and daily marine reports.
- Report operational status, risks, and incidents to Barge Superintendent or Marine Supervisor.
- Support audits, inspections, and ADNOC marine assurance reviews.
Emergency & Incident Response
- Act promptly in case of anchor line failure, equipment malfunction, or adverse marine conditions.
- Support emergency response actions and incident investigations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical Diploma or equivalent marine/offshore qualification.
- Valid offshore safety and marine certifications as required by ADNOC.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8 12 years experience in offshore anchoring and marine operations.
- Proven experience as Anchor Foreman on offshore construction barges or floating vessels.
- Experience in ADNOC offshore fields or Middle East offshore projects is strongly preferred.

- Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE and marine policies.
- Promote continuous improvement in offshore marine safety.
