Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the highest standards of animal care, welfare, and husbandry for carnivore species.
  • Prepare and distribute appropriate diets, monitor food consumption, and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain and clean animal enclosures, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Observe animal behavior and report any health or behavioral concerns to the veterinary and management teams.
  • Participate in animal enrichment programs to promote natural behaviors.
  • Assist with the training of animals for medical procedures and husbandry practices.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with the quarantine process of new animals.
  • Provide excellent guest service and interact with visitors in a friendly and informative manner.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of carnivore species, including their natural history, behavior, and husbandry requirements.
  • Ability to observe and interpret animal behavior.
  • Strong animal handling skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to protocols.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
