The Applications & Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing application and systems infrastructure to ensure high levels of reliability, performance, scalability, and security. The role supports virtualized environments, enterprise storage platforms, Linux-based systems, and disaster recovery solutions while aligning technology capabilities with business and security requirements. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, and maintain application infrastructure including web servers, application servers, middleware, and integration platforms supporting business-critical systems. Administer and manage virtualized infrastructure environments, including virtual machine provisioning, live migration, high-availability configurations, and resource optimization. Manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including scheduled backups, snapshot management, deduplication, and disaster recovery processes. Administer storage infrastructure including SAN, NAS, and software-defined storage solutions, managing storage pools, volumes, datasets, and related resources. Install, configure, maintain, and optimize Linux-based operating systems, ensuring performance tuning, system hardening, and operational stability. Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity across application and infrastructure environments, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Implement and enforce security best practices, including patch management, access control, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.
