Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Technical Client Engagement
Visit client offices and project sites across the MENA region together with the sales team to present our natural gas treatment technologies and capabilities.
Serve as the primary technical contact for clients during the bidding and project development phase.
Listen actively to client needs, ask the right technical questions, and interpret their process requirements accurately.
Maintain a positive, professional demeanor and strong communication skills to build trust and credibility with clients.
Techno-Commercial Proposal Preparation
Prepare preliminary techno-commercial proposals that address both the technical scope and commercial framework.
Develop the technical content, including process descriptions, preliminary mass and energy balances, basic equipment sizing, and block flow diagrams.
Define the commercial scope in coordination with the sales team, including budget pricing, delivery terms, and execution assumptions.
Ensure proposals are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with client specifications.
Coordination with Internal Departments
Act as the bridge between the client/sales team and the engineering department. When complex technical discussions arise (e.g., detailed process simulations, equipment design), engage engineering experts to provide in-depth support.
Similarly, coordinate with QA/QC, procurement, or project execution teams when client discussions require their specific expertise.
Ensure smooth information flow between departments to deliver accurate and timely proposals.
Bid Clarifications & Technical Discussions
Attend technical clarification meetings with clients to explain proposed solutions and address questions.
Handle technical queries during the bidding process, either independently or by involving engineering specialists as needed.
Support the sales team during commercial negotiations by clarifying any technical assumptions or implications.
Market & Technology Awareness
Stay updated on industry trends, client challenges, and competitor technologies in the MENA region's oil and gas sector.
Provide feedback to the engineering department on client needs and potential improvements to our offerings.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (required).
Experience
Minimum 5-12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on natural gas treatment processes.
Proven experience in a techno-commercial, proposal engineering, or process engineering role with client-facing responsibilities.
Familiarity with the MENA region market, including EPC contractors, NOCs, and operating companies.
Knowledge of crude oil treatment (e.g., desalting, stabilization) and water treatment (e.g., produced water, injection water) is an advantage and will enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.
Technical Skills
Deep understanding of gas dehydration, sour gas treatment (e.g., amine systems), NGL recovery, liquefaction, and sulfur recovery technologies.
Familiarity with crude oil treatment and water treatment processes is a plus.
Ability to perform preliminary process calculations and understand process simulations (HYSYS, ProMax, etc. - proficiency is a plus but not mandatory with engineering support available).
Capable of reading and interpreting P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment datasheets.
