Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Design, Develop, Test and Publish APIs in the Bank s API Banking platform. Integrate Bank s Corporate clients, FinTechs & other Institutional clients with the core business applications and services.
Contribute in the end-to-end architecture & design, technical implementation, security policy enforcement (both technical & procedural) and infrastructure configuration for the API Management solution built using IBM s API Connect and IBM s DataPower Gateway products.
Expand the current platform to industry standard Open Banking and Open API solutions in line with Central Bank of Oman s Open Banking Framework.
Provide technical support & assistance to bank s Corporate/SME customers and FinTechs in the onboarding journey, API testing and production support.
Coordinate all required monitoring activities for the supported systems, including operation of utilities to support customer system and data implementations. Responsible for maintenance and emergency response outside of normal business hours as necessary to maintain general network health and/or upgrades.
Responsible for Issue resolution & RCA for support incidents and follow proper escalation processes to meet or exceed target resolution timeframes. Responsible for involving resources outside of Operations when necessary to resolve identified issues.
Provide technical support for all projects involving APIs; this includes, configuration fixes, code fixes, end-to-end testing support, user acceptance testing, performance and security testing support.
Perform all required monitoring activities for the supported systems, including operation of utilities to support customer system and data implementations.
Collect and analyze system usage statistics and engage in capacity planning required to manage the supported systems to accommodate growth and to support ongoing engineering initiatives. Provide periodic updates to Senior Management on the System usage, performance & improvements.
Responsible for maintenance and emergency response outside of normal business hours as necessary during production implementations, customer issues, system upgrades, etc.
Responsible for issue resolution & support in RCA analysis for incidents. Follow proper escalation processes to meet or exceed target resolution timeframes. Must ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are undertaken and resolve problems as soon as they arise.
Must adhere to all standards & processes defined in the team for project delivery, peer review, security, incident & problem management.
Must contribute ideas to help the support team to become more effective and seek ideas from other team members.
Principal Accountabilities
Responsible for design, development & supporting the APIs used for integration of institutional customers and fintechs with bank s core business applications
Liaison between the infrastructure and the applications groups, aiding one to understand the other and to ensure completion of development and/or maintenance activities of Bank s Middleware systems
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications
Requires Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other engineering discipline.
Mandatory:
Professional Certification on IBM API Connect
Professional Certification on IBM DataPower Gateway
Desired
Professional Certification on IBM App Connect Enterprise
Professional Certification on IBM MQ
Professional Certification on other API Management products in the market (Kong, WSO2, etc.)
Other relevant technology professional certifications
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in design, development & support of IT software solutions.
Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in design and development of API & Integration solutions using IBM API Connect product (mandatory)
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in design and configuration using IBM DataPower (mandatory)
Understanding of industry API standards, such as PSD2, Open API 3.x, OAuth 2.0, etc. is required.
Previous experience in implementing Open API or Open Banking solution will be a strong advantage
Hands-on experience in development of integration solutions using IBM App Connect and IBM MQ is strongly desired
Extensive knowledge and experience in RESTful API design, development and testing.
Hands-on experience in other API gateway products and microservices solutions is preferred.
Training
Formal training in IBM API Connect is required
Formal training one or more of the IBM Middleware products listed below is desired
IBM DataPower
IBM App Connect Enterprise
IBM MQ
Formal training in industry standard API management products (such as Kong, WSO2) is desired
Other skills and Abilities
Good knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, Banking applications & RDBMS databases
Programming experience in Java & J2EE systems. Working knowledge of java-based open source technologies.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral & written form.
A clear and practical understanding and experience integrating technical services which support applications and users in the organization;
Experience communicating by phone and face-to face with customers collecting requirements and implementation details, implementing solutions, and providing technical support;
