Roles & Responsibilities

Aquarist Worldwide Zoo Consultants
As an Aquarist, you will be at the heart of creating and maintaining a dynamic aquatic environment, ensuring the health and vitality of our diverse aquatic inhabitants.

Duties
Aquatic Species Care:
Provide expert care and husbandry for a wide variety of marine and freshwater species, ensuring their well-being, health, and enrichment.
Maintain optimal water quality parameters and monitor aquatic environments.
Enrichment and Behavioral Observation:
Design and implement enrichment programs to promote the mental and physical well-being of aquatic species.
Conduct behavioral observations to monitor and assess the animals’ health and behavior.
Habitat Maintenance:
Maintain clean and safe aquatic enclosures, including aquariums, tanks, and water filtration systems.
Collaborate with the maintenance team for equipment repairs and improvements.
Conservation and Education:
Participate in educational programs, tours, and presentations to raise awareness about aquatic conservation.
Educate visitors about aquatic species, ecosystems, and the importance of conservation efforts.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of water quality parameters, animal health, and environmental conditions.
Assist in the preparation of reports for regulatory compliance and management review.
Experience, Skills & Requirements
Knowledge of dive equipment and the corresponding maintenance of the equipment.
Scuba certification required.
Proven experience as an Aquarist, with expertise in the care of a diverse range of aquatic species.
Strong knowledge of water chemistry, filtration systems, and aquatic habitat maintenance.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with visitors, staff, and volunteers.
Passion for aquatic life and conservation.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that involve lifting and carrying equipment.
