Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
General objectives of the consultation
Working with teams made up of young people aged (18-35 years) in the governorates of Egypt.
To provide current trainees with more experience, develop their skills, and offer them opportunities to choose from a variety of artistic talents to ensure their active participation and to produce a high-quality artistic product that aims to raise awareness of societal issues, encourage them to express their views, and interact with the public, as an attempt to find solutions to problems related to those issues.
New members were added to community theater and music groups in 17 governorates.
Developing new shows that address the issues of: child marriage, female genital mutilation, family planning and gender-based violence.
Empowering young team members and enhancing their abilities to use theater, storytelling, or music to raise awareness, so that they become more proficient in using technologies to ensure the continuity of the teams and then convey awareness of various community issues.
Review and develop proposals that were worked on last year to strengthen them and improve their performance efficiency.
Empowering members of different teams with various interaction mechanisms and tools to engage with the audience.
Continuing what was started last year by writing and composing songs collectively for use in awareness sessions within the residents’ clubs.
Supporting team spirit within each governorate and establishing a structure or restructuring for each team.
Key tasks and outputs
First : Interactive theater exercises
Providing interactive theater workshops and training for groups formed in different governorates ensures that trainees become more proficient in using different theatrical techniques such as acting, storytelling, set design and interaction with the audience .
Training participants to deliver artistic performances addressing targeted population issues.
Enabling trainees to interact with the public.
The staff is committed to supporting the trainees and being present during the presentations in front of the public at least at the first event.
The outcome of each workshop should be an interactive presentation addressing one or two of the targeted issues.
The duration of each training session should be between 6-10 working days only.
Second : Music and singing training
Offering improvisation and songwriting workshops for targeted issues.
Voice and vocal exercises.
Training participants on mechanisms for interacting with the audience and discussing song topics.
The participants were then followed up to organize singing sessions within the residents' clubs.
Third: Facilitation and community engagement
Training teams on interactive facilitation tools and employing the arts as an entry point for discussion.
Empowering young people to manage community sessions using their artistic products (performances - songs)
Equipping young people with executive tools to ensure the continuity of community awareness activities after the workshops end.
Key requirements
The applicant can be an individual, an artistic group, or a company.
The applicant must have experience working on developmental art projects.
The applicant must have experience working with teenage girls and boys in similar work.
To have participated in artistic works that address similar issues.
The applicant must have experience dealing with non-Egyptians (Humanitarian Affairs Program).
The applicant (whether a team or an artistic director) must have experience in executing similar artistic and creative works, especially in the field of music and interactive theater - no less than 7 years.
