Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Asphalt Spreading: Manually rake, spread, and smooth hot asphalt mix to achieve the specified thickness and grade, ensuring a consistent and even surface.
- Edge and Joint Work: Carefully shape and compact the edges and joints of the paved area to create a seamless and professional finish.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the paving machine operator and other crew members to maintain a steady and efficient workflow.
- Safety Adherence: Strictly follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and being aware of heavy machinery on site.
- Tool Maintenance: Keep all tools, such as rakes and lutes, in good working condition and report any necessary repairs or replacements.
- Quality Control: Continuously monitor the asphalt surface for defects, bumps, or uneven spots and make immediate adjustments to ensure high-quality work.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Experience:
A minimum of 1-3 years of direct experience as a Rakeman or a similar role in asphalt paving.
Proven ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including working in hot conditions and performing continuous manual labor. - Skills:
Excellent hand-eye coordination and a keen eye for detail.
Basic knowledge of asphalt paving materials, methods, and equipment.
Strong team player with the ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
A proactive and safety-conscious attitude.
