Roles & Responsibilities

The College of Engineering at the University of Sharjah invites applicants for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the field of Mechatronics and Robotic Engineering Program to commence appointment in the Fall Semester of the academic year 2026/2027.

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to:

  • High-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching
  • Curriculum development in modern mechatronics and robotics topics
  • Establishing an active, externally funded research program
  • Student advising, supervision, and service to the university and community

We are particularly seeking candidates with demonstrated teaching and research expertise in several of the following areas:

  • Mechatronics System Design and Integration
  • Robotics and Automation
  • Reverse Engineering
  • Autotronics and Intelligent Vehicle Systems
  • Micro/Nano electromechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS)
  • Smart Systems
  • Embedded Systems

Desired Candidate Profile

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with a strong specialization in Mechatronics and Robotics .

Applicants with a BS and an MSc in Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, are especially encouraged to apply .

Preference will be given to candidates with proven teaching excellence and relevant professional/industrial experience in robotics, automation, and mechatronic system design.
