ASSISTANT CONSULTANT PLASTIC SURGERY

Main Responsibilities & Duties:

• Undertake clinical work in all areas of the surgical specialty under instruction and/or supervision of seniors/consultant.
• Undertake surgical procedures for which privileges have been granted but with the knowledge of the seniors/consultant. Has the privilege to open the theatre, as all appointees must be board certified.
• Undertake administrative duties as assigned by seniors including morbidity/mortality and quality improvement activities.
• Attend Section and Departmental meetings and represent Department in Committees as required.
• Arrange equitable on-call rosters in consultation with seniors, peers and juniors to ensure adequate cover.
• Responsible for instruction and teaching those in lower grades, residents and interns as required. Partakes in other educational activities.
• Takes share of medical record work to generate quality records in a timely fashion.
• Perform other job-related duties.
