Job Description

1. Support Drilling Operations:

Assist the driller in executing workover and well-completion activities as per the drilling program.

Monitor drilling parameters (e.g., torque, weight on bit, and mud properties) and report anomalies to the driller.

2. Rig Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

Operate rig equipment such as the drawworks, mud pumps, and rotary tables under supervision.

Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance on rig equipment to ensure reliability and safety.

3. Supervise Crew Activities:

Direct and oversee floorhands, derrickmen, and other rig crew members during operations.

Ensure proper handling and installation of tubulars, tools, and equipment.

4. Handle Well-Control Situations:

Monitor for early signs of kicks, fluid losses, or other well-control issues.

Support the driller in implementing well-control measures and procedures.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Duties

1. Promote Safety Practices:

Enforce safety standards and practices among crew members.

Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.

2. Emergency Preparedness:

Assist in emergency drills, including fire, blowout, and man-overboard scenarios.

Ensure the rig is equipped with functioning safety and firefighting equipment.

3. Environmental Compliance:

Handle chemicals, waste materials, and fluids in compliance with environmental regulations.

Administrative and Reporting Duties

1. Documentation:

Maintain logs of drilling activities, tool usage, and equipment maintenance.

Assist in compiling reports for supervisors and the rig manager.
