Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform emergency duties as per Station Bill and Emergency Procedures manual.

Effectively participate in the Stop Observe Act Report (SOAR) program and encourage active participation.

Comply with and effectively contribute to the continuous improvement of RMS; Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related policies and procedures, and relevant authority regulatory requirements.

Assist or direct the review and/or approval of any HSE related or other relevant documentation impacting their area of responsibility.

Responsible and accountable for HSE compliance within their area of responsibility, including communication and implementation of such policies and procedures; demonstrate management s commitment to health, safety, and environmental protection.

Ensure Floormen, Pumpman and Derrickmen are correctly deployed for ongoing and upcoming operations, and that they are familiar with the equipment in use and its safe operation.

Ensure planned maintenance on drilling equipment is performed by the drilling crew and is recorded.

Carry out daily checks and ensure the choke manifold is properly lined up for the current operation.

Perform thorough and timely derrick inspections and Dropped Object Checks, document the results, and ensure any anomalies are reported.

Ensure good housekeeping in all drilling areas.

Complete sections of daily drilling reports as directed by the Driller.

Calculate and record drilling line ton miles.

Take active role with well control drills.

Take an active role in planning work for crew members before work commences and include relevant personnel in the planning process.

Show active participation in Hazard Management and Stop Work activities.

Operate drilling equipment in accordance with Company procedures, agreed plans and manufacturers recommendations.

Effectively contribute to Management of Change and Non-Conformance Management through compliance with Change and Non-Conformance Procedures.

Measure accurately all down-hole tools, tubulars, and other equipment that are run in the well.

Follow inspections and preventive maintenance schedules and ensure equipment is properly maintained in conjunction with the maintenance department (as applicable).

Contribute to the effective execution of mechanical lifting operations.

Actively participate in all safety meetings and contribute with relevant points.

Complete and submit reports, logs, records, and notes in accordance with procedures and instructions.

Assist with audits and follow up on outstanding audit points to bring them to completion.

Provide assistance to other departments during non-drilling operations.

Review Company documentation with crew members as required.

Participate in document revisions as required.

Relieve Driller as directed.

Assist in the management of the mentor process in accordance with the Mentoring Program.

Demonstrate leadership through personal responsibility and accountability.

Participate in Competence Program.

Supervise and manage in accordance with supervisory roles and responsibilities.

Implement frontline discipline in consultation with next level supervisor.

Participate in a leading role in relevant incident investigations.

Conduct formal and informal performance appraisals, which include measuring performance.

Ensure direct reports roles and responsibilities are clearly discussed.

  • Perform all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focus on doing things right the first time, every time, and contribute actively to continual improvement activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

High school or technical degree in drilling, mechanical or petroleum engineering

  • Previous experience in offshore environment and jack up rigs with minimum 4 years of experience in gas and oil rigs.
  • Candidate should be certified in Well-control level 3 training.
  • Complete the mandatory training such as: ARO Rig induction, SA-HUET, H2S, OGUK medical Personnel Hoist Operator Safety Awareness, Spill Prevention and CPR.
