Assistant Fashion Designer

The Assistant Fashion Designer supports the design team in developing and executing clothing lines, collections, and campaigns. This role contributes to every stage of the design process from initial concept to final product including research, design development, and production support. The position involves close collaboration with designers, pattern makers, and production teams to bring creative ideas to life.


Key Responsibilities:


-Research & Trend Analysis: Stay up to date with current and emerging fashion trends, materials, and consumer preferences to guide design decisions.


-Design Development: Assist in creating design concepts, sketches, and technical drawings (flats) using design software or traditional methods.


-Material Sourcing: Support the sourcing of fabrics, trims, and other materials required for sample and production garments.


-Sample Development: Participate in prototype creation, including pattern making and garment construction.


-Communication & Collaboration: Clearly communicate design ideas and technical details to designers, pattern makers, and production teams.


-Administrative Tasks: Maintain design records, prepare presentations, and track sample progress.


-Quality Control: Inspect products during design and production stages to ensure they meet quality standards.


Essential Skills & Qualifications:


-Creativity: Strong design sense, with the ability to sketch and visualize concepts, and a solid understanding of color and textiles.


-Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, CAD), pattern making, and garment construction.


-Communication Skills: Ability to convey design ideas and technical specifications clearly, both verbally and in writing.


-Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


-Trend Awareness: Knowledge of current and emerging fashion trends and understanding of the target market.


-Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, pattern makers, and production teams.
