It is a very exciting time to join Deira International School. We are seeking to attract an experienced or aspiring school leader with a track record for leading a whole school provision for Inclusion. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing strategic direction and the continuing development of Inclusion provision, monitoring the impact of teaching and learning activities on the progress made and supporting the development of high achieving classrooms which support and foster the achievement of all pupils, leading in maintaining the whole school s culture and ethos. It is important that interested candidates understand the context of leading Inclusion in the UAE and have a passion to further develop a department that has already been judged as Outstanding.

The Director, with the support of the Head teachers, is committed to supporting all leaders to be happy, fulfilled and thrive in their work as we believe that in return, our young learners will do similar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the inclusion department, overseeing SEND, ELL and G&T provision across the primary and secondary schools.
  • Develop and implement an inclusive educaton strategy aligned with the schools vision and KHDA expectations.
  • Ensure high-quality teaching, assessment and intervention for all students with additional needs.
  • Provide professional guidance, coaching and training to teachers and support staff.
  • Oversee the effective use of data to track progress, measure impact and inform practice.
  • Liaise with parents, external agencies and the wider community to ensure holistic support
  • Contribute to whole-school leadership as part of the Senior Leadership Team, supporting strategic planning and school improvement initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

A B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge

A PGCSenco or equivalent

At least 5 years teaching experience of the National Curriculum for England and a proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching

At least 2 years experience leading an Inclusion Team

A mind-set which understands all students have the potential for top performance, and the drive and passion to enable them to do so.

A thorough understanding of the Dubai Framework for Inclusive Education

Exceptional communication, interpersonal and leadership skillsb>.

At least 2 years Senior leadership experience, accountable for the provision of Inclusion across the school

Experience of the KHDA framework and the auditing processes for evaluating the quality of Inclusive education in schools

A working knowledge of the assessment systems of outstanding International schools, especially those within the UAE
