Job Description

An Assistant Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of facilities by managing maintenance activities, supporting the lead maintenance manager, and supervising a team of maintenance staff. This position is vital for maintaining the functionality and safety of equipment and systems, ensuring minimal downtime, and optimizing resources. The Assistant Maintenance Manager coordinates repair and maintenance work, assists in scheduling and project planning, and ensures compliance with health and safety standards. They also liaise with external contractors and vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery. The role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. This position is essential in creating a proactive maintenance culture that maximizes equipment lifespan and minimizes operational costs.


Responsibilities
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in daily operations to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of maintenance staff for optimal performance.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules to prevent interruptions and equipment malfunctions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
  • Maintain records of maintenance work and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment reliability.
  • Manage inventory and purchase of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Handle emergency repairs promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices and safety procedures.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex maintenance issues.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance performance and improvement plans.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, facility management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, systems, and equipment operations.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills for staff supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations and compliance.
