Roles & Responsibilities

Operating Room Level II has 22 operating rooms (plus one L&D OR, one DMU OR, one Emergency Medical Services OR, and one OR at the Children's Cancer Centre).

OR Level II specialties include:

  • General Surgery
  • B-HIPEC and IORT procedures
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Neurosurgery
  • Gynecology
  • L&D
  • Urology
  • ENT/Base of Skull/Oral Surgery
  • Pediatric Surgery
  • Ophthalmic Surgery
  • Plastic Surgery

The CVOR (four ORs) and the Organ Transplant OR (eight ORs) are separate.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (online/distance education programs cannot be considered)

  • Current nursing (RN) license
  • A minimum of four years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital, including a minimum of one to two years of current experience in a similar position in a General OR at a large, acute-care teaching hospital
