Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Assistant Professor will be part of the Academic department with the following responsibilities.

  • Teaching courses at undergraduate and graduate level
  • Undertake research work and publish them regularly
  • Demonstrate potential for teaching excellence and research productivity
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver new learning methods with the ability to foster a student-centered learning environment
  • Willingness to contribute to departmental and College service such as serving on committees, any other services related to the college, or participating in student advising
  • Proficiency in relevant technologies and passion for medical education innovation

Desired Candidate Profile

Eligibility Conditions for Assistant Professor: The candidate should:

  • Have full time PhD, from a university recognized by Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Oman (MOHERI) (preferably those with good contributions to scientific research and published research in the same field of specialization), in the same field of study specialization as that of the advertised job.
  • MBBS/MD from an accredited institution is a must for clinical positions
  • Have FIVE years of post-PhD experience in teaching of the subjects in area of specialization and at least one year in the rank of Assistant Professor.
  • Carry out research that has led to peer-reviewed publications and scholarly or professional activity, which are judged to increase knowledge and understanding and improve the scholarly and professional competence of the faculty member.
  • Have at least five (5) refereed journal publications in Scopus or Web of Science journal with at least two (2) such publications should be in SSCI or SCIE Impact Factor from the Clarivate Analytics Database.
