Roles & Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our growing consultancy team in Dubai. The successful candidate will support the commercial management of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works across a range of building and infrastructure projects, ensuring cost efficiency and contractual compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for MEP systems
  • Support the measurement and valuation of MEP works in accordance with standard methods
  • Review and analyze contract documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Assist in the evaluation of contractor variations, claims, and interim payment applications
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify quantities
  • Help prepare cost reports and financial forecasts for ongoing projects
  • Liaise with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure effective cost control
  • Support senior QS staff in final account settlement
  • Ensure compliance with UAE construction standards and contractual obligations

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 2 5 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying, preferably within a consultancy environment
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and installation processes
  • Familiarity with standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC)
  • Proficiency in Excel and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Cubicost, or similar)
  • Good analytical, numerical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on projects in the UAE or GCC region
  • Membership or progress toward professional accreditation (e.g., RICS or equivalent) is preffered but not essential
  • Knowledge of local authority regulations and cost benchmarks in Dubai
