Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Perform the duties as per the Privileges recommended by the Chief of Specialty Services and approved by the Credentials & Privileges Committee.
In patient Duties:
- Admit patients through the Emergency room, out-patient clinics and accept patients from other hospitals.
- Conduct daily rounds on assigned patients during work days.
- Foster teamwork in collaborating with all involved healthcare professionals.
- Ensure assigned in-patients are attended to during weekends and holidays as per specific service on-call arrangement.
- Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner and attend to patients when required to do so.
- Participate in trauma care, Code blue care, or rapid response care according to the established role by credential and privilege given.
- Answer in-patient consultations within the required timeframe in conjunction with consulting services.
- Carry out appropriate discharge procedures as per existing hospital policy.
- Consult with colleagues from same specialty and other specialties when required.
- Participate in the rotational 24 hour on-call coverage
Out Patient Duties:
- Attend to assigned out-patient surgical/ Medical and procedural clinics in a timely manner.
- Work closely with out-patient care nursing team and other professionals to maximize patient benefit from out-patient clinic visit.
- Refer patients to other services as appropriate.
Operating Room / Outpatient Procedure Area Duties: (only applicable for associate consultant surgeon)
- Ensure patients are adequately prepared for the required surgery/Procedure.
- Maintain punctuality and professionalism in the operating room environment.
- Ensure appropriate operative notes are dictated in a timely manner.
- Keep patients caregiver/guardian informed about the outcome of the procedure.
- Follow the operating room policies and procedures regarding patient processing through surgery.
- Work closely with anesthesia colleagues to ensure patient safety during the perioperative period Works closely with other consultants and hospital staff in a manner that reflects hospital's mission and core values.
- Maintains lines of communication open with patients and families
- Works in a cooperative manner with chain of command to resolve concerns and complaints
- Promptly complete all medical records as directed by hospital policies and procedures
Desired Candidate Profile
Graduation from an approved school of medicine
One year of internship in a recognized training program.
SCFHS registered Senior Registrar and Hold a Western/ Saudi Board Certification and have completed less than three (3) years of post-training experience in the specific specialty.
Or SCFHS Classified as consultant Holding Board certification.
Three years of Residency training in a specialty in a recognized training program.
Must hold a valid license to practice medicine.
Excellent command of verbal and written English.
Ability to adjust to group practice in an industrial environment.
