Business
• Support and partner with the local Banking heads in execution and delivery of the Banking agenda locally/regionally .
• Partner with local support functions and stakeholders to address potential business blockers, ambiguities, approvals, and process issues with and for the deal teams before they inhibit revenues, while maintaining risk and conduct discipline.
• Be the connector between global and local teams, importing / exporting best practices, and a catalyst for positive change and commercial risk management mindset.
• Driving and management of a prudent cost culture.
Processes
• Continuously seek out process simplification and process re-engineering opportunities to improve operational efficiency, and greater ROTE for the Group.
• Keep up to date with local regulations to assess impact / business opportunities and manage any changes to business processes and infrastructure.
• Possible collaboration with the AG countries.
Risk Management
• Collaborate with onshore Markets COO business risk managers in accordance with the Banking and Markets COO MoU to identify, assess and mitigate operational risks in-country and provide Country Process Owner support. This may include the design and monitoring of controls, escalation of material NFR risks and issues where appropriate in-country/clusters.
Governance
• Guide and partner with senior local / regional leadership in the effective supervision of Banking staff, where applicable.
• Ensuring Banking staff adhere to internal and external processes and procedures, and governance practices set out by the Country risk committees.
• Support the Banking business heads in product governance matters, for eg. country addendum updates and approvals.
• Support Banking business heads in supervising and coordinating in-country audits.
• Supervise and guide business management support, eg. capacity planning, business continuity, access controls, Service Level Agreements, licensing, etc.
Skills and Experience
• A minimum of 7 years experience in similar roles.
• Broad understanding of core banking products offered to CIB clients with strong knowledge of Lending and Financing Products preferred.
• Strong inter-personal, business development and managerial skills, particularly in leading and collaborating with senior stakeholders and managers across a wide range of business agendas and initiatives (business enablement).
• Proven ability to deliver in challenging and dynamic work environment and to demonstrate ability to delicately handle and resolve issues of diverse natures.
• Demonstrate willingness to change and be a change catalyst especially with process simplification.
• High integrity and professionalism.
• Expertise in Regulatory matters.
• Strong Business Risk Management.
• Project Management experience is good to have.
