Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
As an Associate Director in WSP, you are expected to be experienced and involved in the following:
Nurture client relationship and engage in work winning. Create strong connections with existing clients and acquire new connections with impactful clients in KSA.
Act as a WSP ambassador, representing WSP to clients and their representatives.
Hands-on experience in the operational delivery of small to medium size projects as an MEP leader or multidisciplinary leader for all engineering and architectural services including management of subconsultants.
Lead and successfully deliver small to medium size project proposals, MEP or multidisciplinary. Closely communicate with clients to secure projects.
Have excellent communication skills. Have strong presentation skills and the ability to create meaningful connections with clients, stakeholders and peers at WSP.
Building Services technical leader that is well rounded in all MEP services and understand each discipline's main constraints, risks and opportunities
Have excellent technical knowledge in mechanical or electrical building services and delivered several projects successfully to the client's satisfaction. Have a deep understanding of standards, regulations and authority requirements and can provide tailored advice to our clients.
Skilled in delivering different project market sectors (Commercial, Retail, Hospitality, etc.) and have a strong understanding of associated standard, authority requirements and sustainability requirements
Develop the technical capability of the team. Identify weaknesses and support them to improve their performance and outcome proactively and constructively
People leader, able to lead, inspire, engage, and develop a team.
High financial acumen with experience in budget management, change management and accountability for project financial performance, having a track record of delivering project within agreed design fee.
Deliver high integrity documentations with focus on quality and meeting client intent.
Supporting Team Leaders / Head of Building Services on project reviews including Technical and Commercial activities.
Responsible for project technical control and ensure that all designs are technically sound and meet the client brief.
Check project team's work thoroughly and ensure it complies to standards, authority requirements and client intent. Work closely with team to ensure the work is coordinated and correct
Experienced in resource management and leading a large project team. Able to assess team capability, distribute tasks and control the flow of work.
Excellent risk management skills, able to raise, control and mitigate risk effectively and in a timely manner.
Review project commercials along with the stage deliverables on monthly basis and report to the project director and Team Leaders.
Project financial control, end of month reporting on project financial status, possible VOs, invoicing status, WIP and debt.
Ensure project management procedure is followed as per company practice including QA.
Reporting to the direct report on project technical and commercial performance. Keep the project team informed of key deliverables, deadlines, program, progress, issues, and changes.
Review and endorse MEP design documents to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Establishing and monitoring project key performance indicators (KPIs) for the project to comply with all company policies, procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in building services with a mechanical or electrical bias; master's degree is a plus.
Preferably Chartered with a reputable professional body (CIBSE, IET, etc.)
Minimum of 18 years of experience in MEP design, with a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering background.
A high sense of ownership and accountability
Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire, develop and motivate a large team.
Out of box thinking and problem solving.
In-depth knowledge of MEP codes, standards, and best practices.
Experience working in the GCC region is highly desirable.
